영국의 일간지 <텔레그래프>는 지난 6월 22일 역사상 가장 위대한 100곡(The 100 greatest songs of all time)을 선정했다. 100곡의 선정은 음악평론가 닐 맥코믹(Neil McCormick)이 했다. 100곡 순위는 주관적이어서 신뢰하기 힘들지만 선정된 100곡 모두는 20세기를 대표하는 곡이다.
11~50위 가운데 한국인이 좋아하는 팝 가수인 비틀스, 아바, 사이먼 앤 가펑클이 포함돼 있고 한국인이 좋아하는 팝송인 'Hey Jude' 'Imagine' 'Dancing Queen' 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' 'The Boxer' 'Stairway to Heaven' 등이 들어 있다. 올드 팝인 'Stand By Me' 'Bird on the Wire' 'Let’s Face the Music and Dance'도 귀를 즐겁게 한다.
